Last weekend, our older daughter had a friend over for the afternoon, and as we got ready to send her friend home, they asked if she could spend the night. Since it was Sunday, we immediately said "No," but we indicated that we'd think about it for the next weekend. So, after a week's worth of negotiation, she and her friend agreed on a third friend to invite, and plans were made for a sleep over on Saturday night.

The third friend came over about noon, and spent the afternoon at our house, and the other friend showed up about 5:30. The girls all seemed to have a good time. They played games, watched movies, ate ice cream, made a LOT of noise... For the most part, I tried to stay out of their way, as much to preserve my sanity as anything.

The thing is, why is this called a sleep over?? There was precious little sleeping! The girls only finally settled down around 10pm and were up again before 7am on Sunday morning. My daughter was so tired that she took a two hour nap on Sunday afternoon (and she never naps). Everyone seemed to have a good time, and my daughter did help clean up yesterday, so I'm guessing we'll be doing more of these. I'm just thinking that I might have to spend the night at my office next time! :o)
