No respect for the deceased

I so want to rant about O.J. Simpson's new book (and the corresponding show on FOX). I'm terribly disturbed by the idea that he's (somehow) going to profit from this, while the families of Nicole Brown and Ronald Goldman have yet to receive any of the money awarded to them in their civil suit against Simpson. I'm worried that this book is going to sell well and that lots of people will watch the show.

I don't care how curious you are about Simpson and his story, supporting this guy is disrespectful to Brown and Goldman. While Simpson might be legally not guilty of their murder, I don't believe there are many reasonable people who have much doubt as to who the killer was. I can only hope and pray that the public suddenly develops a sudden epidemic of sanity and stays away from this book and show en masse.

Jay Leno called for a complete boycott of all of the tv show's sponsors. We should start a world wide project to support that. Won't stop book sales, but maybe it will stop the tv show.

There are many problems with our criminal justice system (as evidenced most blatently by the Simpson case), but I don't believe the protection against double jeopardy is one of them, which has strong historical reasons for existing.

He's going to profit, alright. Word today is that the contract for the book isn't signed by him...so no doubt it was structured so that the money wouldn't be paid directly to him. That's a great way to get around paying the Browns and the Goldmans.
This might, actually, be the lowest depth our culture has sunk to.

wow! So here's how offended by it I am -- I didn't even know about it! I should clarify: I keep seeing his picture when I launch my browser (it defaults to msn.com), but there's no way I'd ever click on any story about him -- I'm so appalled and disgusted, disappointed, etc. about the whole thing.

Anyway, I finally assumed (in my head) that he must be writing a book or something. UGH! Talk about profiting from evil!

And I'm ashamed of Fox Network. If it weren't for the fact they carry two of the few shows spouse and I both enjoy, I'd write a letter and delete them from my channel lineup. Now I have to decide if family togetherness during House and Bones is more important than sending a message of disgust with this particular programming choice.
