Here are some more pictures from my excursion to the Mall in Washington, DC, last night:


This first one is for skyring. He's posted pictures of the memorials dedicated to the US in Canberra. Here's a reference to Australia here in Washington:



This is part of the Korean War Memorial, which includes a list of all the members of the United Nations that sent troops to fight.

I also visited one of my favorite monuments, one that is easy to miss, in spite of its location just off Constitution Ave. in front of the National Academy of Sciences:




All evening, as I wandered among the memorials, the President's helicopter flew back and forth over the city. On one of the last passes, I snapped this shot:
