Hoping for a howling good time

Our daughters are off from school for the next couple of days (teacher workdays for the end of the grading period), so we decided it was a good chance to do something special as a family. We originally had hoped to take the girls for some more skiing, but the record breaking warmth earlier this month and the complete lack of any snow until the last week killed that idea. We still have valid passes to Colonial Williamsburg, so we decided to head south for the long weekend. As we were making our plans, we found out about a place called Great Wolf Lodge, which has a huge indoor water park. It looked like a fun place for the kids, so we booked a room for tonight. We left the house about 4:30, headed for my MIL's to drop off the puppy and kitten, and then turned south. We pulled in here at the Lodge just before 9pm, only to discover about five other families from our daughters' school seem to have had the same idea! The girls were tired, so they've crashed, but I expect they'll be excited in the morning, when it comes time to explore the climate controlled waterpark.

My plans for the weekend? Well, I've got my camera, and I'm hoping to have some chances to take some fun pictures. I've also brought a small stack of books to release, so I'm happy to have free wireless internet access so I can make my release notes. Otherwise, its all about spending time with the girls, and enjoying a couple of days away from the office and the house.

Let me know how you like that place. I'm pretty sure they have plans to build a Great Wolf Lodge here in RI. Would love to know the skinny.

OOO! I would love your review of the place. My friend went to another one in, Massenuten (sp is incorrect, I am sure). I have been looking at both places. They both look like a blast!

A friend of mine from work went to Great Wolf Lodge with her husband and six-year-old son not long ago, and they had a blast. Happy long weekend!
