It looked like she was alone. If she was with other people, they were skiing elsewhere when she fell.

Canaan is a pretty nice ski area for novices, though right now, the selection of runs is limited by the fact that we've had unseasonably warm weather for several weeks and they haven't been able to make snow. Assuming the weather co-operates, I'd definitely recommend it. We usually book through their website: http://www.canaanresort.com where they have some pretty good deals. The internet package we just booked was $200/person for two nights accomodation, buffet breakfast for 2 days and 2 all day lift tickets. They have an indoor pool with hot tub and saunas, a fitness room and a bar (not to mention broadband internet connections in the rooms). For us its an even better deal, as kids under 12 stay, eat and ski free with a paying adult. The prices also get better later in the season, so if we have a good snow storm in March, you probably could get a great deal!
