Yesterday afternoon, while my younger daughter was at a friend's birthday party, my older daughter and I went to Michael's to pick out a frame. I'd planned ahead, and found the flyer from last Sunday's paper and cut out the 40% off coupon, and we were on a mission to find the perfect 16in by 20in picture frame. When we got there, I discovered that the frames were 50% off! After some discussion, my daughter and I agreed on a "barnwood" frame (it looks like the weathered, unfinished wood of an old barn). Now I just need a picture to put in the frame.

A couple of weeks ago, I got an email from Shutterfly.com. Somehow, my activity at Amazon.com had flagged me for a promotional offer of a free 16x20 print. I'd been thinking about getting some of my favorite photos enlarged, so I looked through them and picked one to upload for the free print. I received an email on Friday indicating that the print had been shipped. It should arrive early this week. Now I have a frame to put it in, so the only thing left to decide is where to hang it. I've been thinking about putting it up at my office, but my wife might want me to hang it up somewhere here in the house. We'll see...

So anyway, this is the picture I ended up picking for my free enlargement:

One morning while we were in Queentown, New Zealand back in August, I went for a long walk with my camera, looking for great shots. This was one of my favorites. I saw the sailboat anchored in a bay on Lake Wakitipu, and I spent quite a while trying to frame up the perfect shot. I'm quite pleased with the results. I can't wait to get the enlargement!
