For years now, I have been documenting my travels almost exclusively on Facebook. While I have received lots of favorable feedback about my posts, I know that not everyone is a fan of Facebook. I can sympathize...I have repeatedly struggled with Facebook and how much it controls what I see. I have considered leaving the platform many times, but there are still good reasons to stay there, so I will probably continue to use it. However, I was recently discussing my plans for my rapidly approaching retirement, and someone suggested that I consider creating a blog to document my future travels. And, after some consideration, I have decided to do so. The new blog will be at
expedition_retirement .
I am still trying to figure out exactly how I want to use that blog, so it is very much a work in progress. One thing I have decided, though, is that I will not be trying to blog in real time while I travel. I want to enjoy my trips without worrying about finding time to write blog entries. So, the blog entries will lag behind the travel, with most entries written after the fact. I hope this strategy will allow me to both fully enjoy my travels and record them. We'll see how that works out.
