Yesterday was a work day, finishing the staining of the deck. My wife did most of it back in May, but the railing still needed to be finished. It took quite a bit longer than I expected, though I did take a break in the middle to go pick up a foosball table I found through Freecycle. After I finished the staining of the deck, I had to reassemble the foosball table, so the girls could enjoy it.
I never expected that staining the deck would leave me so tired. I guess it was all the squatting while spraying the railing, but my thighs are really sore today...it feels like I've been skiing! Today, after church, the girls kept asking what I wanted to do for Father's Day. I dug in the storage room, and found the hammock we bought in Acapulco. I rigged it up between two trees in the back yard. The girls were so sweet. They brought out a small table, and a glass of lemonade. They kept checking back with me every few minutes to see if I needed anything else. They really seemed to want to make it a special day for me.
