I've been lax in introducing my friends to the two newest members of the Qgeek family:
( photos under cut )
The kitten's name is Smokey, and he arrived first, about two weeks before Thanksgiving. A friend of my MIL had a litter, and my wife had been talking about getting a kitten for the Qgeeklets, so my MIL matched us up. This was the pick of the litter, the one that my MIL's friend liked the best and had favored the most. He's been in the house for about a month now, and he is absolutely the sweetest kitten (at least when he's not wound up into full playful mode...then he's an absolute monster!).
The puppy came a little over a week ago. My wife has wanted a Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie) ever since we bought our house. Our daughters have also been asking for a puppy. A little over a week ago, my wife heard of a breeder in Fredricksburg who had Sheltie pups available. She met her mother (who has had a series of Shelties over the years) to meet her there, and they picked out a female pup. Our daughters are thrilled, and have named her Crystal. (Crystal is a blue merle, and will have colorings similar to the one on this page when she matures, rather than the more common sable colorings shown on the AKC site above.)
Now, the question is whether our Christmas tree can survive the attacks of these two bundles of furry energy...
