I was so focused on our daughters' trick-or-treating last night that I forgot to mention my wildlife encounter on the way home from work. As I was walking up the hill from the bus stop, I heard a rustling in the bushes between two lots. I glanced over and saw two deer moving around in the brush, maybe ten feet from the street. They were completely oblivious to the passing traffic (apparently the drivers were also oblivious to the deer, as none of them slowed down!). I continued to watch the deer as I walked past, and as I got closer, I realized that they weren't just randomly moving around in the bushes. Suddenly I realized that the pair was a buck and a doe, and that the buck was mounting the doe! Oh my!
Of course, my geeky side took over almost immediately. I found myself wishing I had my camera, so I could take a picture that I could use to create a LJ icon. I can almost see the icon text...maybe "What the buck?" or "Stop bucking around!" Which raises all sorts of questions about what the heck is wrong with me, I guess...
