For the last few weeks, our younger daughter has been acting strangely towards me. She's been reluctant to do what I ask her, and she's taken to hitting me. Most of this has been on a very minor level, so I've tried not to over-react, but yesterday my wife decided to talk to her about it.
My wife asked our younger daughter why she's been being mean to her daddy lately. "Don't you love your daddy?" she asked. Our daughter responded by indicating that she doesn't like daddy because he's a boy, and she doesn't like boys. So my wife then asks about Grandpa (who she adores!), and she responds that she loves Grandpa. "But he's a boy, too" said my wife. Our daughters response was "No he's not, he's too old to be a boy!" :o)
Okay, so she's going through a "don't like boys" phase, and I've been lumped in with "the boys." I can deal with that...I just need to be patient. I'm just trying to figure out how to tell my father that he's no longer a boy....
