An alcohol reading of 0.4%? That is serious alcoholic territory. That's not low blood sugar Look, they define insanity as an inability to accept reality. Can you get him committed?

But what worries me most is its effect on you - and your extended family. Don't you go down with him. Alcohol and depression are a vicious circle.

I can't do much but offer half-baked advice from the far side of the world, I guess. But there's something I can do.

I enjoy a beer, or a glass of wine. But until you tell me your brother's stopped drinking, one way or another, I'm on the wagon.

And, much as I adore you, Andy, this isn't just something I thought up just now. My son has a wee bit too much alcohol than I approve of. Nothing major, nothing like my intake during my military days, but enough for me to be worried.
