Oh, do I miss the DC fireworks. My father and I went one year (smashing onto the Metro with a gazillion other people). We were right smack dab on the Mall. We got there early enough to find a place to drop our blanket and my dad lounged about while I joined in a game of volleyball with a bunch of strangers. (Which is odd as I normally hate the sport.) Mmmm... good times...
