Excuse me?

Yesterday, Krispy Kreme introduced a new product, a whole wheat doughnut. The company is calling it an alternative for health-conscious customers. Say what? Who're they trying to kid? I like doughnuts as much as anyone (especially a hot Krispy Kreme glazed doughnut...), but I'd be deluding myself if I thought switching to the whole wheat version would be a significant improvement in my diet.

That's hilarious. I can see it now:

Oh, it's a HEALTH food! In fact, I can't afford NOT to eat a Krispy Kreme whole-wheat doughnut! My poor arteries demand the fiber-filled goodness of a whole-wheat Krispy Kreme!

BWA HA HA HA

Seriously -- who are they fooling?!

(the same people who buy low tar ciggies, I suppose)

I agree. Suuuuure, whole wheat is gonna make them so much more healthy. I guess if you can convince yourself of that then you'll be all set. :)

The KK in NC had a sign up in their window at the new Years talking about how a donut only had like 100 calories and so you could eat one and keep your resolutions. I laughed. But, now, heck, it's whole wheat! That means I can eat at least 500 calories worth and it will be healthy! (That's sarcasm, there, btw). heehee

But..but..but...it's whole wheat!
And everyone knows whole wheat flour will cancel the effects of the fat and the sugar. Right? Right??

Crazy! I'll have a diet coke with my donuts thanks!
