My wife called about 11:00 and told me that the power company was working on it. The told her it would only take about 15 minutes to fix. Apparently, the transformer in front of our house was hit by lightning and blew a fuse. Only our house and the next-door neighbors were affected.

We've now had two brief but heavy showers since midday, so things are not over yet. The weather forecast calls for more of the same all week...
