Grandfather

It's probably too late, but we never did tell my step-father. He always vowed that he would never go into a nursing home. I tried to explain that he would like it-no cooking, always someone to talk to, things to do. He was always complaining about how lonely it was at home.

He fell and broke his hip and had to go to a rehab facility (one wing was rehab, one wing was a nursing home, same dining room etc.) He was only in rehab for a short time, but after talking to the staff, we all agreed to "forget" to mention that he had been moved to the nursing home wing. He thought he just had a really long rehab stay, and since he wasn't walking well, it made sense to him. After a couple of months, he told my sister that he liked it there and didn't want to go home "after rehab", could she arrange it. He was happy as a clam there until the end.

Your family reunion sounds nice, even with the issues. I hope everything works out.

I don't even have words for you co-worker. I can't even imagine the horror. I know you can, and I think of your often.

I'm not a roller coaster fan, but I do love amusement parks. I'd love to travel around just going to amusement parks!

Best wishes and enjoy your vacation.
