Just an FYI - I don't know how your parents plan on getting back to upstate NY, but I hope they don't plan on doing it today. Rt. 81 is closed in PA in both directions from Ft. Indiantown Gap to Wilkes Barre. The northeast extension of the turnpike is closed above Pocono (our exit). Rt. 80 is closed west-bound from Snydersville to the Rt. 81 Junction. Pretty much - you can get there from here.
